Welcome!
We are Wanna Talk Philosophy?, a South Bay youth-led organization dedicated to making philosophy accessible and publicly impactful.
We aim to bring philosophy into everyday life through reimagining philosophical education for youth in schools, opening discussions on real-world issues through events and workshop series, and hosting street booths where we have open conversations in public places. We hope to create spaces where big ideas can be explored by anyone, anytime.
We are proud to be a part of PLATO (Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization)‘s California Philosophy Consortium, and since our founding in 2024, we’ve worked with professors from 6 universities, in-person taught 150+ students, and reached 85K learners across 28 countries.

But why?
Academic philosophy is becoming more esoteric; formal vernacular, lack of representation, and strict adherence to scholastic settings seem to define a “philosopher” as only those with a diploma or a PhD.
We believe that everyone is a philosopher.
The word “philosophy” quite literally translates to “love for wisdom” in Greek. Philosophy seeks to understand the underlying principles of the world; whether it’s the underlying power structures that
marginalize and oppress or the very fundamental questions regarding consciousness, everyone has experiences valuable to its study.
As polarization rises and digitalization impedes meaningful conversations, philosophy—dealing with the questions we personally and socially reckon with—needs to play a better role. Welcoming, open, and civil discussion is essential in achieving this.
Our logo, the Gomboc, embodies the fluid and seemingly undefinable nature of challenging reality—an invitation for creativity and questioning. Also, we just think it’s a cool shape.
