We are accepting applications for staff members, with strong possibility of future advancement in the organization.
Staff member responsibilities may include:
- Developing philosophy curriculums for youth
- Designing, contacting relevant guests, and advertising for events, mentorship programs, and camps
- Leading philosophy discussions at events and in schools, hosting/participating in weekly reading and/or discussion groups
- Writing for our blog or newsletter (coming soon)!
Potential Upcoming Initiatives Include:
- Expanding middle school philosophy curriculum and teaching to ~10 more Bay Area schools
- Ethics bowl and philosophy education for incarcerated youth
- Mentorship and symposium/seminar programs pairing high school students with undergraduate and graduate philosophy students and professors
- Informal events, reading groups, and discussion groups for youth and the broader community
Staff members will also have an opportunity to participate in PLATO’s California Philosophy Consortium with educators and philosophy organizations across California.
